110%

110%
Community Suit

I AM THE ONE WHO...
I am the one who has given 110% at every job for more than 30 years
I am the one who allows others to drain every ounce of my being from me
I am the one who keep pushing ahead even though I'd rather abandon work for creative play.
I am the one who is exhausted from trying to be all for all; never stopping to nurture self.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME?
I give you all the hard lessons you have learned many times over: I hand them to you and give you permission to say "This time it's ENOUGH! I have done all I can do"
I give you the reassurance that all of those 110%'s did help others.
But I also give you a mandate to stop giving 110%. It's time to let yourself step back and find some down time.
WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?
I want you to work toward finding balance between the need to work for practical reasons and the passion to turn your 110% efforts to your creative interests
I want you to allow yourself the luxury of an occasional "mental health day" from work

HOW WILL I REMEMBER?
Every time you begin to feel overwhelmed by the work environment, you will think of me being squeezed by bosses and clients like someone stuck between two elevator doors and you will back up to take yourself from the pressure line.
Each morning as you push the office door open, you will close your eyes, breathe deeply and transport yourself to an autumn day in the mountains. You will remind yourself that these mountains and hues of reds and golds will soon be your reality not just your dream. From this, you will draw the strength you need to get through the day ahead of you.

Dear Lee,
This is such a lovely place to visit, a beautiful reflection of you that reaches deeply into the me who also has always been 110%. Your soul search for growth and health challenges me to do the same.
This has been a stirring visit today. I look forward to returning.
Blessings, Mary Jo
